Gary McCarron with Jet Black Swifty
Jet Black Swifty is actually owned by Gary's son Tom and was bought as a 16th birthday present. A loveable sort, 'Swifty' will be going home with the McCarron's when his racing days are over.

Brought over from Ireland as a pup, 'Swifty' was a relatively inexpensive purchase who has made it to the top grade over both 4 and 6 bends. He's not had the best of luck with injuries but did well to win on his comeback earlier this year after some ten months off the track.

A winner of 6 races, 'Swifty' is still lightly raced and will be making his comeback sometime soon!

Gary visits this kennels every week, more often than not he's up twice a week to walk 'Swifty' and bring him his favourite treats.

Gordon Johnson with the retired Valleymount Pat
Current owner Gordon Johnson's Valleymount Pat suffered a couple of minor setbacks when just starting his career around Oxford. He was soon taken home to join Gordon, his wife Jennie and the family where 'Pat' has proven to be a fantastic addition to the family.

'Pat' settled in very quickly in his new home and has now made the sofa his own!

Gordon explained, 'He is such a fantastic pet and no trouble at all. He still gets excited on Sunday mornings because he knows we'll be coming back here to meet Mick, the team and our other greyhounds Flagstaff Law and Isle Of Erkina. We'll can take them all out for a walk together every week.'

'In the same way Mick explained to us that 'Pat' used to get excited knowing we were on our way to the kennels, he is absolutely bouncing on Sunday mornings and cant wait to jump in the car to return. He does not have a bad bone in his body and simply loves to walk and sleep (on our sofa!). We love him to bits!'

Gordon has been an incredibly patient owner and was willing to wait as long as necessary to see Flagstaff Law return to the track. His patience has been rewarded as the brindle has returned seemingly better than ever, landing an A3 by 8 3/4 lengths and an A2 by 5 1/4 lengths.

Kevin Sedgwick
Kevin is an incredibly loyal owner who has been with the Peterson's for over 20 years. He's owned some cracking dogs over the years and right now, has Society Lil with Michael. She's lightly raced but had a couple of injuries. She's on the way back and almost ready to run again.

Kevin once owned Springfield Lisa who was beaten just a head by the St Leger winner on only her second start for the kennel. She went on to reach the Coronation Cup Final and went on to have a couple of litters. One pup, maybe not surprisingly, was called Springfield Mick!

Mick also bought a very fast dog called Nonus Pursuus for just 800 Guineas in the late 1990s. The dog was named as such by his previous owners because they believed he did not chase properly! He ran and won an Open on Reading Masters Final night, just a few spots off the time recorded by the Masters winner.

Mick also had a lot of fun with a dog called Text Me Now, who held no fear and ran the bends just as fast the straights! The dog had a fabulous run where he took 6 races in 8 starts.

Dennis Beckett
Dennis Beckett is to be found at the kennels almost every Sunday walking his dog/s. He loves his greyhounds and somewhat surprisingly, is a relatively new owner to the game. He's had dogs with Michael since 2007.

His current greyhound, Malbay Beyonce has run just a few times but has already won twice at Oxford (A4 and A3) and contested an Open at Romford.

He has previously owned Night Life and the brilliantly named Get It. Get It won several races around Oxford and reached A1 class.
